Founded in 1995, we are a friendly, non-auditioned choir based in South Oxfordshire. We perform two or three times a year in churches and other venues in and around Wallingford, Oxfordshire. We are a registered charity.

Welcome

Christmas 2021 - our farewell concert to Chris de Souza

Rehearsals are well underway for our Christmas Concert featuring a selection of the best-loved choruses from Handel's Messiah and other works.

The choir will also sing a number of beautiful Christmas Carols including Tchaikovsky's Crown of Roses and the audience will be invited to join in some well-known carols.

This concert will be the last with our current music director, Chris de Souza. Chris first joined us at short notice to rehearse and then conduct Mozart’s Requiem in March 2015, followed shortly after by the wonderful and extremely challenging African Sanctus. Since then, he has led us through many notable concerts and works, including: Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Bruckner’s Mass in F minor, Rutter’s Mass of the Children, Opera Choruses, Faure’s Requiem, Goundod’s St Cecilia’s Mass, Hits from the Shows and more – a wonderful repertoire. Throughout Chris has inspired us with his enthusiastic conducting, never-ending good humour and his love of music. He will be sadly missed!

The concert will be held on December 11th in St Mary's, Cholsey.

Change of rehearsal venue and time...

As we still aren't able to use our old rehearsal space at Cranford House School, rehearsals have been rather peripatetic this term.  We have therefore made the decision to end the confusion and move our rehearsals permanently to Moulsford Prep School.

We meet from 8 to 9.30 pm on Monday evenings in the theatre at Moulsford Prep School.

Registration

New members are very welcome.  Due to all the Covid disruption, we won't be charging for subscription (for anyone) until after the new year (2022).
